Hi all, tonight I managed to finish planking the quarterdeck, drilled .5mm holes for the treenails.. Treenailing hopefully will be conluded tomorrow..  .. Didn't fancy treenailing today so thought I would leave that for tomorrow and made a start on fitting the lantern instead.  Found the fit wasn't that great  so took some time filing and adjusting until the fit was acceptable, this also included filing the locating lugs by the window frames to ensure the mesh sat flush...  , found it easier using the trusted dremel with fine grinding attachments ...  .. Next, I gave all the pieces two coats of primer before painting 3 coats of metallic gold. The finial was also fitted before the painting started.... Here are the parts so far....
