I washed the rattlines in pva also used beeswax on the shrouds but the fluff still shows on pics. can't see it normally. will try doing those 2 again butt will beeswax the rats aswell. see how that works out. Cams make things look worse.lol... got super macro on so picks up the fluff..lol..

Here is my slow progress on the ratlines, Boy its never ending. I counted up shrouds on this ship, There are 15 shrouds on one side where as the victory has 11 on one mast. wow...lots of rats...BigGrin

Hi Chris

I think your shrouds are coming on very well, I only wish I was ready to start tackling the rigging on one of my ships.

Capt Stedders has us all standing to attention when it comes to hairy ropes. I was watching the programme on T.V. over the weekend about Sea Shanties. The guy presenting it at one point was standing in front of some shrouds or other rigging and instead of listening to the point being made I found myself examining the ropes to see if the real rigging might in fact have been a bit hairy??!! This whole thing is getting to me, guess I need a CHILL tablet like the rest!BigGrin Crying

Keep up the good work, I'm sure you haven't far to go now(?)

Hi All , Latest instalment. Been very slow on this as the Instructions for the rigging is very bad.Angry I had to redo the block numerous times. Also doesn't tell you how to fasten the sails to the jacks.Cursing Cursing
One picture shows the block to be fastened to the jack with wire. Then another it had to have a loop eye on the block so had to do it again . Also you just get pictures of the rigging but very basic routing of the rigging. I think I've got it right.BigGrin

Just wondering how near to completion this build is at, I have nearly finished mine, I am quite pleased with my first attempt, but I can see lots of ways of improving when I eventually start my Victory build. Photo's shall be posted when I'm finished with the San Fran 2.

Looks incredible, so impressed. I have nearly finished doing rigging of main mast on cutty sark but i struggle using pva watered down to secure knots, either i am doing knots wrong or not watered down correctly but either way i will finish it and if it looks half as good as your build i will be very happy. Totally impressed with the way you build these ships.

Sorry Alan just noticed I not replied.....

1, I would use no pins as I think it looks nicer without.
2, My plans came issues 6 and 7, But should be 3 and 6. I did complain that they were needed alot earlier but never got anywhere.

I have done some work on the San Francisco tonight not worth posting pics as you can't notice any different when doing the rigging.

Thanks Chris...
