I have now started doing the lower planking. It's taken me sometime to get there as I had to go over my previous work and fix some things I was not happy about. As I stated in a previous post, because I am learning and improving as I progress I've decided there will be a good side and a bad side to this ship.BigGrin
Anyway my question is, I have found that I have not had to add droppers to the first 3 planks and only had to do some tapering. Now I find as I start to lay plank 4 the gap is just over 1/2 a plank. I know I have to add a dropper, as per instructions; but, do I have to do this anywhere else that the gap is this big
I guess it's common sense really, but I just like to sure.

Hi Sinbad, Everybody’s build will be slightly different. As you say its just common sense. Don’t force your planks into shape let them fall where they want to and that will give you a view as to if you need to add a droper.

hi sinbad,as jase says, each side may vary, but if careful you should be able to plank each side the same. but variations will occur, and adjustments will have to made, bearing in mind that a second layer will be applied later,so you can be a little different on the first layer of each side of planking.
I tend to lay the planks upto three layers ahead so I can judge the taper needed on each plank rather then try and lay the planks without a taper and then have to put droppers in.this stage is the most difficult part of the build, so be prepared to redo some planks if not happy, and don't forget if you use pva or aliphatic glue you can release planks with hot water and a paint brush.
