Hello everyone, Can anyone recommend a book on model shipbuilding? I came across the following, but it has mixed reviews… http://www.amazon.co.uk/...4862332/ref=oss_product
Thanks in advance! Steve

Yes I have this book and it is very informative, however I found the original Period Ship Kit Builders Manual by the same author to be far more useful. The new one gives good "reviews" on building specific models but the original went much more in depth on general model building techniques. Regards,
David

just recieved it this week, not a bad read but skimps on detail, I got 'Period Ship, Kit builders Manual' today and it looks a better buy! Got both through 'amazon' within 2 weeks. Jeff

It is usually very difficult to recommend books because different people look for different things. The best advice is to build up a collection of as many as you can afford which will hopefully cover all you need between them.
A very detailed book specifically about a Victory build is 'The Anatomy of Nelson's Ships' by C Nepean Longridge. A lot of his techniques may well prove useful for those of us who are looking to 'tweak' the kit a little as we make progress.
