I'm not going to put a step by step of my build on here as i think most people have now got to the point of planking so IL start with all the ribs in place and lower gun deck painted I'm going to paint it the only difference I'm going to double plank mine if I'm not satisfied with my planking we'll just have to see now to the bow section Ive made a start on filling it to give me more confidence in planking so that's me done up to issue 18 Ive not done launch or cannons yet as i will do all those once i have got them all that will be a nice in the house job when winter comes Alan

well its been a few weeks since Ive done anything to the Vic rib 15 caused me a few problems like most on here but also 3 others as well though not a massive problem to sort out i do feel if we're spending £700+ then the manufacturers should get their act together will post some more pictures once Ive sanded down Alan

Your build is coming along a treat mate, your rib 15 looks identical to mine, and I have got to build up a few other ribs in the same area too, but hey, that's modelling? Keep the pictures coming... Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

I am simply astonished that something presumably mass produced and using laser technology is so inconsistent. All my ribs go exactly to the bottom of the keel apart from 15 and 16 but I can sand the keel back I little here I presume.
Or should I build the ribs up instead?
John

Hi John, best to build the ribs up mate and sand them down to the required level and not the keel... Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

My rib 15 and 16 and also 25 do not reach the bottom of the keel. I will do the same and build them up.

John id build the ribs up mate you can always rub down ribs to get the right contour but it will be harder to build up the keel if you take to much off Alan
