Hi all,
We'll I have managed to loose about 6 canon eye bolts. They have pinged themselves into out space some where. Can anyone suggest how I could replace them without having to purchase the two issues that contained them.

I had similar problem losing one of them never to be seen again.

You can purchase very thin tie wire that you could make up eye bolts perhaps and paint brass colour later.

I was thinking same as you just how critical the number of these eye bolts are and whether there were any extras in the issues because of that problem of wanting to fly off into space?

Seems a little expensive to have to purchase back issues just for the eye bolts. Perhaps some of the long time members may be able to throw some better light on your question.

I place a rag over the pliers when using side cutters, my shed floor is covered with spares I usually vacuum regally then sift the wast.

Pleased to see you were successful re fishhooks.

I've put into my notes if required.

Found out something else that's handy and that's the wire tying of the blocks re the loops and handling because they are so tiny.

I kept losing them on the floor.

If you look on Build Discussion you'll see question "Efficient way to make up blocks".

karl1113 shed some light on it that I think is the answer and I will do as he suggests. His reply answer is simple when you think about it.

If you are not having any problems with handling them then no worries. Thought I'd just pass on if any help in future.

That's good to know.

I sort of felt that they would put some extras in from previous model builders registered problems in the same area. We're only up to issue 5 re newsagents supply so had no way of knowing.

I may have an answer. Try a fly tying clamp(for fishing flies). Lets you hold the items and pass things around them etc. I am using one just to hold things.

Most angling shops will have a fly tying clamp. Mine is a cheap table top one that clamps to the table and swivels so that you tie threads on the fly at various angles. You wouldn't swing Queen Mary of it, but is a useful tool. I have also used to set gemstones in earings etc.
