Since this kit just became available here this week,I was wondering if we have any others in the USA who have signed up?

I had to get one after watching the Senna bio on our Velocity Channel (they also show Wheeler dealers)

Hi Guys!

Welcome! I'm the US forum support guy. If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to get ahold of me here, or via PM. Here (open forum) is usually better as others might have a take on a problem that I don't know about.

The MP4/4 is indeed a beautiful kit. I've seen one built up, and you are in for a treat!

One thing to keep in mind; WE LIKE PICTURES!! Please consider posting a build log when you get rolling. There are not a lot of US builders, and it is great to see more coming on.

Hi,

I'm new to model space, and from the US. The McLaren MP4/4 is what brought me here.

Excited to subscribe, but it seems I'm having trouble actually checking out on the website. It gets stuck at the last step after entering all information. After clicking the submit order button it just stays there with a spinning circle never going through. Any help?

I did enter promo code 'vroom' which gives free shipping if that helps any.

Thanks,
Abe

Hi Abe and a warm welcome to modelspace BigGrin

Our resident US Forum support guy Experten should be able to assist you with the problem with the link hopefully. If you send him a PM ASAP and he'll get right on it for you.

I've not had any problems with my two orders. You can email Gary at USA customer service. He's pretty quick to respond.

Hi Guys,

I'm sure the "folks in the know" have seen the above posts, but I'll fire off an email to let them know the page is hanging.

For now, the 800 number seems to be the way to go.

Thanks for the welcome!

I do remember sending an email a couple weeks back about the MP4/4 and got a response saying it wouldn't be available until later this year; so I was really confused to see you can order it now.

Either way I'll try again tonight and if it doesn't work I'll call the 800 number, thanks again

Hi Mark...

A couple of questions.

First what is the expected delivery time for the McLaren kits. The D51 Pack 1 shipped one week after ordering and arrived 6 calendar days later. My order for the McLaren was processed on May 8....hasn't shipped yet.

Second what adhesives...USA brands...would you recommend to have on hand for the Senna McLaren. I have tubes of Testors which is for polystyrene. I also have Loctite Plastic Weld Epoxy. I have some Testors liquid brush-on cement. I have read about other builders having problems with gluing ABS.

Thanks...Gary

Hi Gary,

I use Tenax7R. It has no trouble at all with the ABS. I apply it withe Flex-I-file "touch and flow" applicator. The only drawback with the TnF applicator is that the Tenax is a bit "hot" for it, and if I forget to clear the applicator, it had a negative effect on the adhesive they use, and it hopelessly clogs the tube.

As far as time to deliver, that can be a bit variable. It is a pretty hot kit, and they might be waiting for stock replenishment.

Is Tenax needed if using a super bond, such as Lochtite Super Glue? I have used this product on just about every material with good results.
I also ordered Tenax as recommended, along with applicator-with such an expensive kit why take any chances Drool
