A lot have been asking about "inking" and what to use and how to do it so i have done a quick tutorial to show those that wish to add detail to certain areas of there MP4/4 shown in later stages.

(This will not be shown in the official build as it is optional)

First of all you will need some tissue or a cotton bud, a good quality brush and some Acrylic (water) based dark wash or paint.

I have used Citadel Technical Imperial Primer. This is the same as their wash range that they do and gives the same results.

If you are not using the above wash from Citadel then you can easily make your own using any water based black paint thinned right down.

I do not recomend using enamel based paints thinned down as I have not tested this method.

Take the part that you are going to "Ink" and lay it on to a flat surface. Now give your chosen wash that you have and give it a good shake before opening (or sture) take your brush and dip into the wash and apply all over the area that is to have the wash applied. be carefull how you apply it as the more you go over any adges etc the more you will need to clean up.

Make sure that the area you have coated is fully covered and you will see that the wash will sit in the lower surfaces and the raised edges will stand out.. This is normal as you can see from the pictures below.

Any areas that you don't wantthe wash to be on, simply wipe away with either a tissue or cotton bud but be careful that you do not "soak up" what you have put down on the part.

Allow to dry preferably overnight or place in a warm area.. (onto of a warm radiator is oneof my favourites..

Sit back and admire your handy work!
