Andre. My wife saw your post on those Midas screwdrivers and got me some for Fathers Day. I owe you one. Brilliant stuff.

Hi sparrowtwin, I am glad that I have kept somebody happy. Hat's off to your wife. I have done the front and rear wing as far as my parts go. Have to wait for the others.

Good news=) my best friend, whom has zero knowledge of motorsport or model building, is in! after telling him and 2 other friends, he came to me and begged for details. the next morning we put in the order and he's in. As for me, I recieved my first package today and ordered 2 Issue 4s at CNA because i later wanrt to have 3 seperate shocks setups nl. 7mm, 9mm and 11mm. I will be building 2 cars then. One for racing and one for display.

Sharkie, you can start your own build topic within the members RB7 builds section..

http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=topics&f=116

Also, if you resize your photos to approx 600x450, they will appear as images rather than downloads.

Congrat's on your first medal Cool

Well, the front and rear wings have been put together. Now I must wait for the parts between themMellow While I am waiting I might as well carry on with the hydro plane. Some problems there. Here are the two wings with one of my pit crew filling up the empty spaceBigGrin

Good start and congrat's on your first medal, but if you want to show your build, can you start a build diary in the RB7 members builds section..

Morning everyone, yeay! Got my first mailing yesterday, no toolbox though, but wil get it next time acording to the enclosed letter. I've read that there were some issues with wrong bearing sizes with some other builders overseas. I surely hope that those issues are resolved by the time we get to those stages. Realy don't want to re-order parts and wait for them just to continue the build. The next issues can't come soon enough. Just wondering, is the first mailing just 2 issues, or were I to get 4 issues? Anyway, enjoy the day and happy building.

Hi Lucas, the first posting is 2 issues. Second posting 2 issues then 4 issues per posting. It seems it was only a small batch with wrong sized bearings. All quiet here, waiting for my second posting.
Tomick, I might have a fix for loose bearings in the rims. Will do a test and keep you informed.

Aaah thank you for the reply Andre. Will see if the bearing issue have been resolved. Otherwise I will also have a look at the problem with loose fitting bearings in wheels when I get there. Will also keep you posted.

Just a thought, maybe all the guys in the Western Cape can come together at a venue and have a braai and discuss the RB7. Of course this will only be later in the build. Any suggestions?

i was thinking the same thing! would also be great if we could set up a track day or 2 later on! we dont have tracks in the cape but we have huge empty beautiful parking lots=) does that also sound good? to keep the cars safe we could have time trials and lap records. but yes very far in the future

Hi sharkie15, I am not a Vettel fan or a Redbull fan but I do enjoy F1 when I can watch it. I do not like all these rules that they have brought into F1. That said, I do come to Cape Town every now and again for various things. Born there and went to school there but it is now a madhouse. As I said, later in the build and we can all get to know each other and then race together.

yeah the regulation changes are ridiculous! we went from the fastest sport to being beaten by Indy Car and even NASCAR!!! but old Bernie will do anything to prolong his fortunes. but have you heard of Red Bull concidering manufacturing their own engines after 2015? cant wait to see how that pans out! and sure we can organize something awesome. and yes im born in joburg and moved here in grd7 and compared to joburg its the promised land! haha but youre right it is expanding too quickly.
