well Magpie has set the standard for this build, so i hope i can do this build justice its going to be a warts and all build so if any one has any hints and tips please feel free to chip in the build is over 8 issues and so far Ive received 4 with one on the way so i thought lets get going. Most of the keel and ribs were bent or twisted not really a massive problem, i soaked them all in warm water and left them for 24hrs before putting then in between 2 work tops and weighted them down and left them for 2weeks,that solved that problem    all the ribs were easy to slot together glued and left overnight

next i put together a small jig   next i started to line the bulkheads with walnut veneer   deck planking now in place sorry about the picture quality as i dropped my camera an I'm having to take pic's on my phone

caulking was done by rubbing a HB pencil along side the planks  it would have been so much easier if i had been able to remove the deck to do the cross trees but i think i managed it OK i had some 0.5mm brass wire knocking round that i had used on some railings on my HMS blueberry   once cut down and sanded flush the don't look to bad the planking is not perfect but in the 1500's i don't think it would have been anyway  and again sorry for poor picture quality more to come at the weekend thanks for reading Alan

lol that should have been emptied! my shed is my lil domain where the wife an my baby girl don't have access to yes I'm enjoying the build so far was a bit worried when i 1st opened the boxes and found all parts had warped but after reading threads from a few months ago about victory warped parts i was less worried I'm glad i had this forum to fall back on an read Alan

side bulkheads put in place    stern planking  quite pleased with how easy to cut these planks were it helps when you have the right tools for the right job (plank cutter) 1st three lines of planking are now on im limiting myself to 3 rows aday because i know if i do anymore i will make some very stupid mistakes by rushing

That looks to be coming along nicely, I can see on one of your photos a kind of clinker effect right at the very front, I had a similar effect, sorted by lots of sanding.
But it won't take you long to work out how to improve and get round these minor imperfections. There is a wealth of advice and information freely available here and elsewhere on the internet.
Just keep on going you won't be to far out.

the clinker effect was what was in the build manual i don't really like the look it but as this ship is a big learning curve for me im trying to follow the very poor pictures
i think I'm going to rub it down and use 1 mm instead as the veneer doesn't stand out like in the pictures
