I just started buying the HMS Victory sets at CNA. I plan to subscribe through DeAgostini asap.
I have however noticed that the paints aren't deliverable in South Africa. Does anyone know roughly which colours and shades to use for this model? Keep in mind, this is my first wooden model (used to build plastic airplanes which uses enamel paints). And also at which shops I might get them? I am in Cape Town.
This newbie would appreciate any advice :)

Hey Gan-javi Welcome to the build bro' I am in the same boat as you but I am taking it one step at a time, buying as required, also all my old paints went awol and dried up etc so I am buying the colours as needed issue by issue from my local hobby shop. If you trawl through the posts and blogs here the guys are extremely experienced and I have already learned so much from them. Current build : The Victory Pending builds : none - yet Built loads of bikes trucks planes and boats - all plastic kits. on wish list - a 1:24 spitfire, in wood, plastic, just as long as I can build it :)

This newbie would appreciate any advice :) Welcome to the forum and the Victory build. I dont know about the post in S.A but if they will send to you, try Cornwall Models. They do a paint set for the Victory and also anything else you can think of for wooden builds!!! I use them for everything, and my Black Pearl extras all come from there. Good luck with your build. Jack.

If you can find a stockist for Jotikas or Caldercrafts Admiralty paints in South Africa then the Jotika paint pack for the Victory which we have all been getting, either from DeAgostini or Cornwall models contains the following paints with the quantities of each.Caldercraft paints sold seperately at Cornwall models 3 x Dull black 3 x Yellow ochre 1 x Red Ochre 1 x French Blue 1 x Walnut/Wood Brown 1 x Matt White 1 x Olive Green 1 x Gold/Brass 1 x Metal Black 1 x Copper I also purchased an etch primer for use on metal components ie oars Hope this helps you guys & that you have a stockist over there who can supply you.
