Issue 100 - Contains diecast decorations for the left-hand side of the hull.

Use a fine needle file to remove any irregularities from the diecast decorations, then apply a coat of metal primer and paint them bold.

Use a fine paintbrush, paint the relief of piece PD17 black, and paint the four inside panels of piece PD23 red.

Glue decorations PD15, PD16, PD17, PD18 and PD19 on the lower left-hand quarter gallery in the positions shown in the instructions.

Take the decoration PD20, glue it into the housing on the top left-hand quarter gallery of the hull as indicated.

Fix decorations PD22 and PD23 in their positions on the stern area of the left-hand side of the hull, following the measurements given in the photo.

In a similar fashion, fix decorations PD24, PD25, PD26 and PD27. Be careful to orient piece PD25 correctly.

Fix pieces PD21 and PD28 on the hull. These decorations need to be glued forward of those fixed in the previous steps.

Chainwales:

You need to pin the chains (169B) of the deadeyes of the left-hand mainmast wale to the hull. Lift up the ends of the chains and rest them on the wale. Using a rule and pencil, draw a line under the wale parallel to the black band on the hull. The line must be 3mm above the upper edge of the black band.

Use a 0.5mm drill bit, make a hole on the pencil line drawn in Step 13, exactly on the vertical of the deadeye located at the right-hand end of the wale.

Take some of the pins that came with Issue 96, set the chain of the deadeye above the hole, then pass a pin through a chain link and fix it in the hole. Make sure the chain is taut.

Set the pin carefully in the hole with the help of a pin hammer or pin-nailing tool.

Fix the chains of the first nine deadeyes, following the measurements shown in the photo. The chains next to the gun ports must be set at an angle to allow for the opening of the hatches. As you did in previous steps, fix the last three chains at the intervals indicated in the photo. Then cut-off the excess of each chain and paint the heads of the pins metallic black.

Completing the chainwales on the left-hand side of the hull:

Take the 2x2mm strips and 16 pieces 169a (deadeyes and 25mm chains) from the materials left-over from your assembly session in Issue 96. Complete the fore- and mizzenmast wales, beginning with the foremast.

Cut from one of the two 2x2mm strips a segment 85mm long. This portion of the strip is to be fastened on the front part of the fore wale of the left-hand side of the hull. Bend the strip slightly then, without using glue, set it on the front of the wale. With a pencil, mark the location of the 10 indentations on the edge of the wale.

As before, use a round needle file to make small notches on the strip at the pencil marks. Put the strip back on the wale and check that the notches of the two pieces are aligned with one another.

Put a drop of metal glue in the notches of the wale and fix 10 deadeyes with their chains (169a). Then fix the strip to the wale to cover the notches.

Pin the 10 chains to the hull, repeating the procedure followed with those of the mainmast wale. The photo shows the distances between the first seven chains, but be sure to keep the last four chains of the foremast wale, 9mm apart. Then paint the heads of the pins metallic black.

Cut a 48.5mm-long section from the 2x2mm strip. With this, complete the mizzenmast wale of the left-hand side of the hull.
Make six small notches on the strip to match the notches on the wale. Set the strip on the wale and check that the notches of the two pieces coincide.

Glue six deadeyes with chains (169a) in the notches of the mizzenmast wale, then fix the strip on the wale, covering the notches with it.
Fix the six chains to the hull with pins, repeating the steps followed for the main- and foremast wales, taking care to follow the distances indicated in the photo.

Finally, paint the heads of the pins black. This assembly session is finished. Put away the hull and the pieces left over for your next session.

Issue 101 - Contains diecast decorations for the right-hand side of the hull and a cannon kit.

The nine decorations that came with this issue are for the right-hand side of the model. Go over them with a fine to remove any burrs, coat then with metal primer then paint them gold.

Paint the inside panels of piece PD23 red.

Take decoration PD20 and fix it on the right-hand upper quarter gallery, in the position shown. Then fix pieces PD22 and PD23 into their places, following the measurements shown.

In a similar fashion, fix pieces PD24, PD25, PD26 and PD27 onto your model. Make sure that you orient piece PD25 correctly. Then fix pieces PD21 and PD28 in place, forward of those fixed in the previous steps.

Complete the chainwales on the right-hand side of the model:

Starting from the mainmast wale. Take the 2x2mm strips left over from your assembly session in Issue 100 and the pins from Issue 96. Cut a piece of strip 110mm long. As before, place the strip in front of the mainmast wale and mark the position of the 12 notches on the edge of the wale. With a round file, make small notches at the marks.

Take 12 pieces 169b left over from Issue 96. These must be mounted on the right-hand side of the mainmast wale, symmetrical to those fixed on the left-hand side mainmast wale.

As before, glue pieces 169b in the notches in the wale, then fixed the 110mm strip (see Issue 96, Steps 19 to 21). Pin pieces 169b to the hull, as shown in Steps 12 to 21 of the Assembly Guide in Issue100.

Cut a 85mm-long segment from a piece of 2x2mm strip to complete the foremast chainwale. Following the same method, make 10 small notches on the strip to match the notches in the chainwale.

Fix 10 pieces 169a (assembled in Issue 96) in the foremast chainwale and the 85mm strip. Then, pin the chains of the pieces 169a to the hull, as shown in Steps 26 to 28 of Issue 100.

To complete the mizzenmast chainwale, cut a 48.5mm-long piece from strip and make six small notches in it to match the notches on the chainwale.

Fix six pieces 169a and the 48.5mm strip on the chainwale. Pin the chains of pieces 169a to the hull, repeating the operations performed in Step 33 of the Assembly Guide in Issue100. Then paint the heads of the pins in all three chainwales of the right-hand side of the hull black.

Painting the gallery windows and transom corners:

Overpaint gold, the area around the windows of the quarter galleries on both sides of the model, then overpaint the vertical edges on both corners of the transom gold.

Issue 102 - Contains diecast decorations and a cannon kit.

Go over the surfaces of all of the decorations with a fine metal file, removing any irregularities. Then coat them with metal primer and paint them gold.

Fix decoration PD35 in the niche on the left-hand side of the hull at the forecastle, then fix peice PD34 in the central area of the left-hand side of the hull.

In similar way, attach piece PD33 on the left-hand side of the hull. This decoration must be fixed a little further aft than those fixed in the two previous steps.

Attach the dolphin-shaped decorations PD31 and PD32, which must be fixed on the right-hand side of the hull.

Glue two pieces PD31 and two pieces PD32 on the forward section of the right-hand side of the hull, in the positions shown in the photos. The decorations should be placed 1mm from the horizontal and vertical frames.
On the aft section of the hull, fix two pairs of decorations PD31 and PD32, using the same method as in the previous step.

Glue two more pairs of PD31 and PD32 decorations above the mizzenmast chainwale.

Assemble and finish the cannon in your chosen guise and equip it with two blocks. Then, give the other two blocks a double eye loop and eyebolt on each each.

Carefully store the cannon and decoration PD36 for a later assembly session.

Issue 103 - Contains parts to make the middle & upper foremast fighting tops, and cradle parts for the ships boat.

Identity and cut from the fret, the parts for the boat cradle and the middle & upper fighting tops of the foremast.

Assemble and finish both fighting tops, cross trees, mast tops and cheeks as before, (note there are two spare cap parts for the smaller mast top). Before doing so, please refer to the 103 update information provided here:

http://forum.model-space...=132629&#post132629

Assemble the boat cradle as shown, taking note that care that the holes of the pieces 177 face the same way.

Paint the entire cradle a sapele colour, then use a fine paintbrush to paint the edges gold.

Assemble and finish the cannon in your chosen guise and equip it with two blocks. Then, give the other two blocks a double eye loop and eyebolt on each each.

Carefully store the cannon, fighting tops and cradle for a later session.

Issue 104 - Contains bilge pump parts, a cannon kit, thread and a photo-etched brass fret.

Note that the brass fret provided with this issue is surplus to requirement and is not used in the construction.

Fitting of the main deck cannons:

Retrieve the 10 assembled four-wheeled cannons and the 30 eyebolts that you joined to blocks during previous assembly sessions, you'l also need the 0.15mm-diameter thread that came with your first issue.

Carefully follow the instructions to make the gun tackle. Start by cutting a piece of thread 60mm long, then take a block. Insert one end of the thread into the ring on the opposite side from the eyebolt, and then make a simple knot. Cut off the surplus twine from the knot, then apply a small drop of glue onto the knot to seal it. This is part of the tackle of one of the three eyebolts on each of the 10 cannons.

Following the threading diagram, take the thread attached to the block and pass it through the hole in the block fixed to one side of the gun carriage. Then, insert the thread into the hole of the first block. After tightening the thread to bring the two blocks close together, fix it in place with glue. Then, wrap the twine between the two blocks, fix it with glue and then cut off the excess.

Repeat to make and mount another two sets of tackle on the gun carriage, each secured to the two remaining eyebolts. Then cut the stems of the three eyebolts in half so that they are shorter than the thickness of the bulwark of your model.

Now make up the three tackle sets of each of the nine remaining guns in the same way.

Install a cannon onto the deck of your model. Before using glue, check that the cannon rests firmly on the deck and that it is centred on the gun port.

Put a drop of glue onto the bottom of each of the four wheels of the cannon, then fix the gun onto the right-hand side of the deck, placing the gun carriage 3mm from the bulwark, with the barrel protruding out of the gun port. The gun barrel must be perfectly centered in the opening of the gun port.

Using a pair of tweezers, stretch one of the side tackles of the cannon and make a pencil mark on the bulwark at the eyebolt and 8mm above the deck.
Using a 0.5mm drill bit, make a hole in the bulwarks at the pencil mark, without drilling through to the other side. Glue the eyebolt at the end of the tackle into the hole.
In a similar fashion, fix the tackle of the other side of the gun to the bulwark. Finally, install the rear tackle on the deck, centring it carefully.

Following the same procedure, mount and rig four more cannon onto the right-hand side of the deck.

Now equip and fit the remaining five cannons onto the left-hand side of the deck. The guns should be aligned with the bulwark.

Bilge pumps:

Take the pieces of the two bilge pumps that came with this issue and smooth them carefully with a file to remove any irregularities. Give them a coat of metal primer, then, once dry, paint them a sapele colour. Finally, paint the iron bands of the two pumps black.

Take one of the eyebolts that came with Issue 63 and paint it black. Then, glue it into the hole inside the central body of one of the two pumps.
Insert a handle into the ring of the eyebolt and into the pump’s arm, matching the holes of the two pieces.

Cut a 3mm-long segment from the stem of another eyebolt, and insert the length into the holes of the arm and the handle of the pump, fixing it in place with a small amount of glue.

Now make the second bilge pump by repeating the process.

Glue the bilge pumps onto the deck, behind the hole for the mainmast and beside the bitt, they must be placed 7mm from the bitt on either side.

Issue 105 - Contains diecast stern decorations and two cannon kits.

Remove any burrs from the four decorations, then coat them with metal primer and paint them gold.

Glue one of the figurines PD38 on the left-hand side of your model, in the area above the second roof, centring it carefully.

Glue one of the decorations PD37 on the hull, placing it next to the figurine PD38.

Retrive decoration PD36 which came with Issue 102 and that you painted in the assembly session of that issue. Glue the piece above decoration PD37.

Now glue pieces PD37 and PD38 on the right-hand side of your model, placing them symmetrically to the pieces that you fixed on the opposite side.

Assemble and finish the the two cannons as before and fit them with their blocks. Then, join the other four blocks to four eyebolts. Put all the pieces into a lablled bag for a future assembly session.

Future issues:
