Instruction booklet 18 picture 20 shows the strip bending down from the false keel (ship upside down).
Booklet 7, picture 9 shows bracing pieces(24) are fixed so that one edge is flush with the outside of the false keel.
This prevents the placing of the first strip as mentioned above. The bracing piece is firmly glued in position, so the only option I can think of is to try and profile the bracing piece. A big problem!
Any suggestions? Peter G

Hi Peter.  See page 5 posts 82 my thread Aussie Forum re braces on false keel. This particular Brace needs to be cut or sanded to the shape shown on the bottom or planks would hump over it. I also had glued it in not realizing and no instructions regarding it in mag and had to Dremel off the bottom. See pics further down same page re results. Hi Peter, as George has said it is really important to fair the bracing piece 24 to create a smooth bearding line. I know its awkward and time consuming but has to be done. I used a dremel with a sanding wheel attached to create the correct profile. Finished results should be as per Tomicks Official build diary, this diary and others I would recommend you keep a close watch on as these will help you identify other potential pitfalls you may encounter along the way.. http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=5496

Thanx George & Gandale. Good help! As I feared but I have a Dremel and will profile the cut as suggested.
