Web - First I would suggest the web, just a simple google search and not only you will find many pictures of the real boat but just add models and hundreds of sites showing various stages of completion of the ship. Books - The Anatomy of Nelson's Ships by C.Nepean Longridge, if you can find a copy this is just superb, The history of Admiral Horatio Nelson has been written from every possible angle, but this was not so with his ships. Not until this work was first published in 1961. Before then, such information as there was about the ships was buried in archives on Naval Architecture; only the top expert could have sifted it and present it in a usable form, Dr Longridge was that expert, and his work became a veritable treasure trove for every naval historian and ship modeller. His research is supported by 271 detailed line drawings, rare photographs and fold-out plans showing hull framing, interior construction, complexing and deck layouts. 100 Gun Ship "Victory" (Anatomy of the Ship)by John McKay - One of the most popular titles in the best-selling Anatomy of the Ship series Comes complete with 1/192 Scale fold-out plan Forever associated with Nelson's last battle, HMS Victory is one of the most famous ships of all time, and is now preserved as a major part pf the Royal Naval Museum in Portsmouth. The ship's survival is particularly appropriate since Victory is not only an example of the ultimate sailing warship - the three decker First Rate - but was also the most popular and successful 100-gun ship of the period. Forty years old by the time of Trafalgar, she had been the flagship of half a dozen famous admirals, and was to continue in active service until 1812. First published in 1987, this revised edition of the 100-gun ship Victory now incorporates and details the most recent research and findings of the HMS Victory Advisory Technical Committee. This Volume Features: * Full description of the ship and her position in the development of the First Rate * Pictorial section emphasising close-up and on-board photographs * Guide to the ship's Trafalgar colour scheme on the book jacket * More than 300 perspective and 3-view drawings, with in-depth descriptive keys, of every detail of the ship as presently restored - general arrangements, hull construction, fittings, decoration, masts and yards, riggings and armament * One large-scale 1/192 plan on the reverse of extended fold-out jacket Many other various ship modelling book can be purchased on amazon or play.com - Period Ship A Kit Builders Manual by Keith Julier Rigging Period Ship Models by Petersson Planking Techniques For Model Ship Builders by Dressel Ship Modelling From Stem To Stern by Roth Ship Modelling Simplified by Mastini Ship Modelling From Scratch by LeafAnd I think the best of the bunch when it comes to rigging the beggar is - The Masting And Rigging Of English Ships Of War 1625-1860, a top quality book. DVD - Explore HMS Victory CD ROMVirtual tour of HMS Victory Educational CD Rom of HMS Victory (requires PC). This CD ROM tells you everything you want to know about the ship, including her history, the men who sailed her and how she fought. Explore at your leisure all aspects of this unique 18th Century warship using hundreds of images, historic documents, interactive cross-sections and much more. I hope this helps out with a few ideas for research and the build, it has helped me no end over the years as I continue to build my HMS Bounty. Fell free to add any books, links and/or research material that will help. The one thing that helped more than anything was plenty of research, and this partworks looks like it will provide plenty of help and ideas along the way, the more the better I say:) Colin modelshipwrightsdatabasehttp://www.modelshipwrig...abase.com/Page/01pr.htm Dry Dock Modelshttp://www.drydockmodels.com/

Thanks for compiling the list Colin.
One ref book which is a must have item for any Trafalgar Victory enthusiast is "HMS Victory her construction, career & restoration" by Alan McGowan ISBN 1-84067-532-2
The book describes her whole career and has 200 drawings, which are recently comissioned, which show her as she was in 1805 (Trafalgar), its a highly detailed technical manual on the construction, fitting, alterations and restoration of the ship, and is the ultimate reference work for model makers, historians and enthusiasts, as well as an invaluable guide for the army of consverationists working on historical vessels around the world, the books words not mine.
Its far from being a cheap book and worth every penny, Alan McGowan is also the chairman of the Victory Advisory Technical Committee.

I agree, HMS VICTORY is a must have book, especially if you decide on coppering the hull, there is a great template for this on page 140-141. I also like the Period Ship Handbook by Kieth Julier, some very handy little hints and tips in there. Ship Builds on the go

They can often obtain a book even if it is only for reference. You could always copy the most interesting sections although it still may not be cheap. Depends how much you want it.
