Just wondering.. I just got the MRC 1/12 scale Project Mercury capsule kit and wanted to know if anyone on here has or is building this really nice kit? Would love to see someone else's work and or comments on the subject.

Rob

A very warm welcome to the forum.

Not sure I have seen any postings about this kit but know exactly the one your are talking about - it's an excellant mode.

Why not start your own build diary and share your build with us. - I am sure it would receive a very warm welcome.

Happy modelling

Tony

Thanks Tony, I am in the middle of a large project of doing a sort of tribute to the NASA program over the years from the late 50's to the end of the Shuttle program. I have finished the Saturn V in 1/100th scale by Dragon, and a 1/10th scale ISS EMU Astronaut(Bandai) and am now working on the Tamiya 1/100th scale orbiter... The Mercury capsule may be next. I also have the Mclaren MP 4/4 that I want to get started as well. I will try to keep the progress noted to the forum crowd. It is great to have a place to share this all with, as who else really knows what its like to build except fellow builders .... Thanks for note... Here are some pic's

Welcome Rob,

If you resize your images to 640 x 400 they will show in the thread as pictures rather than attachments, this will save people having to download them

Some very nice models indeed.

Especially like the astronaut, would that be the Bandai ISS space suit?

Tony, Yes that is the Bandai kit. I had fun with it. Its a real simple build, Or should I say "snap". The trick is getting the head and face paint right. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I added a little touch to the helmet and left off the camera unit so as to represent STS 103 which was the 2nd mission to update HST.... Hubble Space Telescope. Great kit...
