After reading and taking a LOT of advice I have decided as a first timer at wooden boats... Infills were the order of the day... This I started with a mixture of excitement and apprehension ... I also preempted the fact I have heavy fingers and reenforced the 2nd rib from the aft castle, a number of builds have had misfortune in this area and Knowing I am prone to breaking things ... Lol

I also decided to run a little infill along the length on the false keel for additional support.. Taking ALL the advice of various build diaries ... Making sure I don't relearn the lessons of the other master builders....

Moving to the shaping ... I found using a mouse sander with a 60 grit... Very very helpful in getting the shaping down to rib level ... Before finishing with a second cut file, down to the required rib bevels..

Stern was not as bad as I expected .... Here I used a mouse sander and a 2 inch PVC pipe sanding block to get the angels... I found the round improvised sanding block a lot easier to use than the 2nd cut file ... Felt I had more control ...

I also took the hint and guidance to reenforce the hidden gun walls.. With balsa... And added extra blocks to support the second deck ... Very sturdy construction.. Feel very happy with the out come

Been playing with stains, today, for the skiff. Very disappointed in the results I got.. So I will go back to the drawing board and do experimenting ... Tried a product called Sherwood stained wood sealer ... Not what I was expecting

Ok .. Finally got onto planking the stern tonight.... Had a hic up or two, found I cut some of the initial planks to short.... Quickly fixed that ... Now it's not looking to bad ..

Btw merry Xmas all.
