Hi,
I am on issue75. I am fitting the deadeyes.
For the main mast small chainwales the plan in issue 75 seems to show 2 small blocks. If you look at the numbers of blocks supplied it shows 18 small blocks in total. 16 for the larger fore and main chainwales, leaving only 2, not 4 for the 2 small chainwales.
The official build diary looks like it shows 1 small and 1 large deadeye on the small one. Is this the case and which way round do they go?

Hi,
Firstly, when you say "blocks" are you referring to the small deadeyes?

You should only need 16 small deadeyes for the chainwales on the fore and main masts combined, 8 for the foremast and 8 for the mainmast (including the small wales)

The deadeyes used on the Small wale of the mainmast are both small, not one of each

Thanks Steve - got it now. It was the FITTING THE DEADEYES title at the top of the page that threw me. It says 8 small for each pair of chainwales....but it means the small and main chainwales as a pair!!!


Great - can get back to it now.
