well she is now officially finished, she's been a challenge at times for me! and was my first wood build in over 28 years, so im pleased with the end result. she was always a practice model prior to starting the Sopwith Camel, also from model airways, so i know she's not perfect. I would in all honesty build another one with a few minor changes as ive learnt a lot with this build.
i didn't bother with the launching dolly as she will be displayed hanging from the ceiling.
hope you all enjoyed the progress of this build
many regards
Dan

hi Robin
Thank you so much for your comments
yes its amazing how far man has come in such a short time 30's, 40's 50's 60's something new every decade, not sure how fast the super top secret super classified "ram Jet/hypersonic jet" is reaching nowadays? mach 5-6 i think! either way WOW just a little over 110 years and look at the technology.
Camel im afraid will sit for a while as ive built up a good few issues of the Mclaren Mp4/4 to start on

A superb build Dan and an even better end result!! CoolThumpUpDrool

You're a braver man than me, it looks so fragile that I'd be scared to even pick it up, let alone build it!! How on earth did you manage to keep it all in one piece without breaking anything during the build!? Blink BigGrin

It makes you think how brave the Wright Brothers were to risk going aloft in something so flimsy doesn't it? Blink Huh ScaredScared

Kev
if the model is anything to go by the Wright brothers where truly brave souls, but then pioneers tend to be.
must say that although she looks fragile she is somewhat stronger than she seems, the model has broken numerous times in the same place (butt joint on main spars) but the real thing i would believe would have had bolts to give it extra strength. loved the build and would build again perhaps a few changes to ensure the main spar was stronger
