Hi Magpie, I am currently re-building my launch using your method of dremelling the ribs away (hope you dont mind! ) as I thought it looked bloody stunning and much more realistic. Just wondering if you have any advice for when it comes to using the dremel - from your photos it looks as though you managed to do away with the ribs entirely as it seems there is nothing left of them! Just how did you do it?! Much obliged mate, Best wishes, Tom

Hi Tom, Thanks For your compliment. Once you've planked the frames(glue the edges of the planks) and let it dry carefully remove the boat from the base. Then extremely carefully with fine pliers break away the ribs from inside the launch(Do it little at a time so not to disturb the planks.) Once all removed you can sand the inside out with fine sandpaper to remove the left overs.
You should then have a nice empty shell. I then used fine plasticard for the simulated ribs.
Hope the explanation is understandable..(WoW Big word...and I got it right first time)
Thanks Chris.. On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Thanks Chris.. Thanks there Chris, Am a little apprehensive about butchering the ribs but I think the end result will be worth it if I can get it looking like yours! Will post some photos when judgement day comes! Cheers, Tom
