I know that we are all now committed, but why 1:7 scale? The clubs are for 1:10 or 1:8 scale. Where will we race and against whom may we race because our car is larger? I will be be racing against f1fanatic because he is also in Swellendam, or I will be racing against the clock trying to improve my timesBlushing I thought of throwing that stone in the bush to see what comes outBigGrin

I wont be racing. My Rb7 will only be for display but I will be displaying it with the racing body. More like a collectors item I guess.

You could race against other RB7 owners in your area

Well its not exactly a car for competitive club racing so you would be racing in a practice session when scale rules are generally relaxed somewhat. E.G. a dirt track near me allows up to 1:5 in practice but they mostly race 1:10/1:8.

I do not have any flat circuits near me so I am grateful for the extra ground clearance a larger scale provides. I have a 1:10 scale F1 car and the clearance is terrible, you can literally only use it in a gym or circuit made for it.

f1fanatic and myself are the only guys in town building the RB7 and we are 220km from Cape Town where the closest track is. I think we will end up racing each other in the supermarket car park on a Sunday afternoon and disturb all the old folks snoozeLaugh

I need to try and find a good flat car park. There is a big B & Q one near me but it has loads of stones and things which have taken out the drive shafts on both mine and my friends 1:10 street cars before.

As you can see from my video in my first run post if you run it on a curved path the front end will handle very nervously and it is easy to go into a spin!

Still this makes it more fun to drive! :)

The car looks fast but seems to be a handful. I would have liked to see if it could catch and overtake some of the other carsBigGrin
