well i made a start on the floor, filled some of the sink marks that i thought would still be visible, then proceeded to base coat ready for the carbon decals, alls good. I applied the decals and left for a few days just to make sure everything was good and set. i then masked off some of the areas on the floor and gave all the decals a light over spray of transparent smoke! then an extremely thin coat of matt black just to tone down the bluish effect of the smoke so the decals just barely came through. piccys are pre transparent smoke & black.

Looking good Dan. The setting you found sounds like macro mode, as you have found the only problem is it does show up every tiny speck of dust Cool

Hi Phil
thanks for looking in, i had originally used a mix of aluminium & gun metal, however once the decals decided to peel off i reverted back to good old Matt black and No decals.

Dan,

Awesome work!! Sorry I'm going to steal more of your creativity!! Did you use shrink tubing on some of those extra hoses/lines?

Hi Jim
feel free! thats why we all post here. so others can be inspired BigGrin

i have used shrink tube on the pipe coming from the top of the intercooler, however ive just ordered and recieved some tubing (1.7mm) from Hiroby to replace it as the shrink tube just does not look good imo.
the other tube/pipe is similar to the pipe used in the kit on the brake lines, again this came from Hiroboy.
ive also just received a smaller diamater pipe to change the radiator overflow pipes.

love the extra detail on the side pods Dan, looks very nice indeed.

shame about the floor decals as i haven't made my mind up yet on what to put on the floor, i have a load of fine carbon decal here which i was going to try and i understand why you smoked it down.
