Hi All
Got these for Christmas, I first came across Perma-grit many years ago and got a set of mixed smooth and rough files which i am still using but over the years i have mislaid a couple of them as there great for all tasks in the house that may need a file and will cut metal as easily as wood.
There made from steel with a tungsten grit welded on, the small round and square files now have plastic handles [ My first set had wooden handles ] . Each set comprise of 8 files and different shapes and sizes 3 round, 1 flat,1 square,2 half round with internal, external grit and lastly a right angle external grit. There not cheap to buy but iv been using my 1st set for around 30 years now so they last but hunting around may get you them at a discount.
Having used these tools over several years they do the job every time and if they get clogged up just clean with paint striper and there as good as new again. The last pic shows a rough and smooth flat file so you can see the difference between the grit. One last word of warning about the rough sets they will take an awful lot of wood off in a short time so be carefull with them.
Regards
Andy
