Here is an example of a Japanese Temple kit by Kobayashi Kougei (aka Art Model K1) of one of the buildings at the Horyu-ji complex in Ikaruga, Nara Prefecture, Japan. This is one of 5 kits that I have built from this manufacturer, with 2 more started and not yet finished. I've included a couple of "what's in the box" photos as I can't get enough of those and I'm sure others are the same. Different species of wood is used to provide colour without having to stain, although some pieces come pre-stained such as railings and roof panels that are made of a blond wood. Most new production kits use Hinoki, which is Japanese Cyprus, resulting in a very blond looking model. There are absolutely no laser cut parts, everything is machined. Roof panels are milled on 3 axis. This kit was of an earlier production as the box has a decorative paper covering with box art. The latest kits come in a plain cardboard box. If you order a kit from one of the online retailers it will be produced to order with a wait time of two weeks to two months. I waited 7 weeks for my Himeji Castle. Brick and mortar hobby stores in Japan will have some kits in stock, and you'll be able to tell if it's earlier production by the packaging as stated above. Lovely looking model and very well put together. Never seen anything like this produced with wood components but do recall from many years ago there were a range on injection moulded kits available (but not a patch on your production). Happy Modelling
