I received my first 2 issues on Monday Let the journey begin. As I have never built a wooden ship before I would appreciate anyone thoughts on the different options. 1 Painted or natural wood (varnished) 2 Cut away or full hull 3 Any other advise anyone cares to give Thanks PS I decided not to build the cannon due to the issues around them and the option of painting or not. However I could not resist the temptation to study it. To me dismay I found the axial(trunnion) hole in the barrel was only on one side of the barrel. I drilled the other hole but found that although the hole passed through the centre of the barrel the eye(thimble) at the back of the barrel was at approx 1 o'clock when viewed from the back.

My barrel was ready for mounting i.e. it was drilled through but like you my eye or what ever it is called is also at 1 o clock position. This seems to a problem with all the guns if you read the posts on the forum. The guys are or have been fighting for replacements. I would have thought with nearly 6 months between the British launch and ours they would have fixed the mold. Oh well, lets see what happens Current build : The Victory Pending builds : none - yet Built loads of bikes trucks planes and boats - all plastic kits. on wish list - a 1:24 spitfire, in wood, plastic, just as long as I can build it :)
