This looks interesting but to confuse matters when browsing around I notice Eaglemoss have a 3D printer partwork out at exactly the same time.
Does anyone with more tech savvy on 3D printers have any comment on the comparable spencifications of each printer. The idbox seems to have bigger workarea & there are differences in layer thickness etc.
Before committing to one or the other would be good to understand what the differences are.

I can't comment technically. But my experience of eagle moss is they will do it on the cheap and cut corners more than DeAg will. Also really important to consider on-going support after you have it. we already have a commitment today that DeAg will support parts after the Partwork completes. HI, I think Jase has hit the nail on the head. My experience with my Nissan GTR Eaglemoss subscription has not been happy, missing parts, faulty parts and 7 months after the subscription supposedly finished many critical parts still not supplied (or any timescale of when they might be}. My Deag subs, on the other hand roll like clockwork. PS. I am not a fan boy and say it as it is.

The big bonus with the idbox is that it will be complete in 52 weeks, where as the EM printer is complete in 90 weeks, and looks like it might make coffee too

The idbox has a layer thickness of 0.10mm where as the EM version has one of 0.20mm. This means that the idbox can produce your Parts with much greater detail. Also a print speed of 100mm per second which is about as fast as they get for printers of this size. Idbox also runs on Windows 8 where as there is no indication that the EM one does. Spencer

Thanks all, that's helpful. One question, my main computer is a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.4. The website specs say the Deag printer supports MAC OSX but doesn't say which version. Will it run on OSX 10.4?

Technically yes, but would be better to upgrade to 10.6 by the end of the collection. Also for Windows users, its a good idea to upgrade to Windows 10

Hi Josefk If you encounter problems upgrading osx you can always install windows on a bootcamp partition. Let me know if you need any help with any of this. I use both windows and osx machines. I like using osx for Android development and some other things. OSX is great but there are some things you just need windows for and bootcamp is great at solving that problem.
