2015 Build of the Year Entry

BigGrin Hi All

This will be my comp build, I did a review of the kit earlyer and have put up a link to it, there are now more additions to the items shown in the review but i will announce these as the build progresses [dont want to give too much away at the start]LOL .

Books on the subject are rare and any that do appear are sold at silly prices but I did manage to get hold of the New Vanguard book- Sturmgeschutz Ausf F, F/8, G, Sturmhaubitze and Sturmgeschutz IV 1942-1945- at a reasonable price. Also my version is one after the order of September 1944 that stopped the application of Zimmermit paste to all stug's. I will be starting the build in due course.

Andy

Saw your original kit review with all of those additional detail parts.

It's a great project and complex with so many small components to add into the kit but I am sure you will pull off a stunning build.

Look forward to watching your progress.

Happy Modelling

That's an impressive amount of aftermarket detail you have there Andy - you sure you'll be able to fit it all in to a 1:35 scale model!!? Blink Blink Cool

Looking forward to watching this build take shape and well done for choosing an armour subject as your entry. ThumpUp

I have something really cool for my entry, but I'm not going to announce it for a few weeks yet until I've got all the items needed? BigGrin

BigGrin Hi ALL

Before the build starts their will be a lot of preparation for the fitting of all the three resin interiors. Firstly the outer hull components with tabs or parts that stick into the inner hull were assembled onto the hull, next any moulded fillets on the inside of the hull were removed along with any moulded guide lines, studs including any protusion's from fitted parts, see pics.
Next it was to prepare all the base resin parts for each section and fit them starting with the drivers compartment then the fighting compartment and finally the engine bay. As you can see it all fits perfectly as i expected as there all from the same company. Non of the components have been attached as yet as this is a dry fitting to see where filler needs to go ,if you look closely you can see the black pen lines. The last pics show more parts dry fitted to give an idea on how busy the interior will be. More soon.

Regards

Nice start Andy and agree with the comments above the resin is going to significantly raise the bar on this build.

BigGrin Hi All

Thanks for looking in and your comments everyone, the appropriate filler has now been applied to where its needed and is being left to dry. The CMK resin products I have always found to be of excellent quality and have high detail another resin manufacturer I think are very good are Legend.
