Well I tried a few things with Nigsey, but the only thing that worked was a black wash on his white diamond!BigGrin So I gave him a matt coat and then glossed his nose and eyes and finished his collar with the cross. Now to carry on with Guy himself.BigGrin

So the first thing i had to sort out was the flying boots, everyone seems to paint them black, but thats for the early flying boots. So I did some research and using the figures boots I found the correct ones. They are brown sued with a fleece lining and a rubber sole that comes over the toes and up the side of the foot, zipped up the front. I got a suede effect by stippling the paint. These will be sealed now and then the shading can start as this is just base colours. The top picture is the boot proper and the second is what I have done so far.BigGrin

Yep, looks spot on to me Daran, should look cool when you've finished the layering/weathering. Well done you for taking this on, I know most modellers avoid figure modelling like the plague but it can be very satisfying once you master it?

I need to weather and detail them yet, only the base colour.BigGrin I have a brass paint to use on the zips, but it looks better over a silver base.BigGrin

A little Xmas fun.... and a related prize Drool

1. Which Lancaster Type was used for the Dambuster Raids?

2. How many Lancaster's were converted for the Dambuster Raid and how many failed to return from the Dam's Raid?

3. What was the Serial Number on Gibson's aircraft when on the ground and why was it not the same as when in the air (which also applied to all Dambuster aircraft). Also, which three letters in the correct order, denote Gibson's aircraft?

The prize.. Special Anniversary Edition DVD of The Dambusters movie Cool

The first post with all three correct answers will be the winner!
