Making a slow but careful start.Cool
I noticed that the tabs on the upper nose cone part don't make contact with the lower section. Shown below.
There really is no point in applying glue as instructions detail.
Am I missing something here? The two parts are aligned correctly. Has anyone else noticed this? Not complaining, just commenting.

The nose cone attachment brackets look like they were folded sheet metal on the real car so I've tried to create that appearance by masking a thin edge and brushing matt black.

There's some great detailing ideas in the builds that have been posted in the modelspace forum. I used a 1,2mm drill in a pin vice to remove the paint in the holes around the brake disc. Not sure if the hole should go right through so haven't gone too deep.BigGrin

I've got some carbon look decals from Autograph so I made a ( nervous ) start by spraying the nose cone a very light coat of Silver. Added the decals and finished with a light spray of smoke. BigGrin

Nicely made parts on the engine block. I sprayed the clutch plates metallic gold. They won't be seen but I thought the contrast looked good.Cool
