One of the few remaining airworthy Spitfires is feared to have been lost to the nation after an 'ill-conceived' Museum deal..

Hmmm, it's a little confusing that story. First they say that the donated Spitfire was airworthy, then they say it's grounded and the photo shows it as a gate guardian. They claim it is "lost to the nation", but it is still owned by a British company and stored in a hangar in Kent, so hardly lost to the nation just yet is it? Just a bit of sensationalism on the part of the journalist I think!?

I do hope that the P-40 is finally returned to the UK, and the article claims that as it is on Egyptian Sovereign territory we may not get it back, but it is owned by a British company and essentially belonged to the RAF when it crashed? Surely it is ours to claim?

I think the photos of the crashed P-40 Kittyhawk in the desert could be used to create a very interesting diorama though!!? Cool

Thanks for that Tom, an interesting read even if a little weak in places. ThumpUp
