Hi Brian, The planking will come with time and practice, the best advice I can give is take your time, measure twice cut once!!BigGrin Im also thinking of getting the Cutty Sark, she looks like a good build, the problem I have is SPACE! they get big as the build progresses! so it might be a case of get it and pack it away untill Victory is finshed, LOL

cheer for the adive i too have limited space so i have had to pack some of my other collections away but i think it will be woth it,its not so much the cutting of the planks but i dont think i got the sanding of the chamfer right as i ve got small gaps now but a bit of filler will work as im painting it.

cani recomend the endeavour longboat?

im going it at the moment, you can see my build log by clicking endeavour longboat in my signature, it may be a small boat but does give you nice practice with planking. i've found it so far, thouroughly enjoyable. i took the 3 month script and part it looks like part 3 is going to be a VERY busy issue with masts rigging finishing the hull and all sorts, definatly a fun build

Brian
put some pva clue in the cracks and a sprinkle of sawdust from the planking will sort out small gaps
