A few years ago I posed the exact same question on another forum and came up with a magnificent list of models we all would like to see be addresses in kit form in one form or another. Here's a short list:

1. Alexi Leonav from 2010
2. Johnny 5 from Short Circuit
3. The Gunstar from The Last Starfighter
4. Project Crossbow from Real Genius
5. The Robot and the Zorgon Ship from Zathura
6. Chromed Naboo Ships from SW:Episode 1
7. Valley Forge and Heuy and Duey from Silent Running
8. Event Horizon ship
9. Whispercraft from 6th Day
10. Any of the craft from Minority Report
11. Blockade Runner from Star Wars:Episode IV
12. Any ship or droid in the Star Wars movies that was on the screen for more then 3 seconds. (The rest of the pod racers, the speeders, the cars that Obi-wan and Anakin were in while chasing the bad guys on Corusant, the Probe Droid, the Diner Waitress bot, Sandcrawler, T-16 Skyhopper, full size versions of those stupid little snap together kits that were prepainted, the Trade Federation command ships, the list goes on and on)
13. The ships from Galaxy Quest
14. The classic Dune movie ships (All of them but mainly the Sandcrawler and the Carry-all)**** This is my one favorite I'd love to see!

All of these would have to be a good size... the little 8 inch kits wouldn't cut it. Should all be studio scale or at least something that could be proudly displayed and not look like a toy. There's a bunch more but I think any and all of these would be a big hit and allow you to expand your sci-fi genre to new levels. But the Falcon was the perfect start to begin with!

The Alexi Leonov from 2010 would be awesome... and also leads me to think of the ships from Babylon 5.. as the Earth destroyers were based on the Leonov...

The gunstar from last starfighter would also be cool..

And of course all are resin garage kits. I'm talking full studio scale replicas here. I think DeAgostini's next sci-fi kit should be a studio scale AT-AT or AT-ST. Both of those would be incredible to have in my collection... or even a studio scale Snowspeeder.

I know that there are a couple of guys on the RPF forums that have figured out the mechanisms for the leg pistons that look like the actual thing... that would be an awesome kit to part pack out.

You may be onto something there Jim

How about a diorama with an AT AT and a snowspeeder on a snowy base.Kind of like the master replicas one.

A studio scale snowspeeder would be good too.I have Steve Neisens SS snowspeeder and it is an impressive size.

I have both the AT AT and AT ST in studio scale resin kits, but they have resin legs.It would be awesome to make them with functioning metal legs.

Oh yeah baby... make the legs like they did in the studio and all the bits and bobs would move for stop-motion filming... that would be awesome!! You'd be able to pose them any way you wanted... maybe throw in a to scale snowspeeder for the AT-AT that would be able to be placed anywhere you wanted.

I actually did a AT-AT that I modified and accurized from an old MPC kit a long time ago complete with a to scale snowspeed flying around it's legs. Sold it awhile back... Here's a few of the models I've built over the years:

(I guess the IMG feature is turned off in the the forums here)

I just thought of an awesome new idea for a kit.. I've only seen one other kit of it in my lifetime and it was small and more of a toy. I'm talking about a 1:6 scale Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! Can you imagine how popular that would be from a company like DeAgostini? I know they would make it an exact replica... but I also know they'd put all the bells and whistles into it as well. Like the pop-out wings, the pop-up rotor blades, and maybe even an inflatable rubber raft! That is probably one of the most recognizable vehicles ever built, probably one of the first and seeing as this company is so good at vehicles, I know they would do it right! And if they had Dick Van Dyke's approval, it would be an incredible collectible that would be very sought after! So what do you all think?

How about an H.G. Wells Time Machine... with all the lights and sound and the spinning wheels... that would be awesome! And make it to where it wouldn't work without the key and when you push the key forward it speeds up and back slows it down!

Carl is right. Randy cooper makes some nice kits. I have his Blockade Runner, and it is a HUGE model. Not built yet though lol. You can also get a 1/350 scale Blockade Runner from Blue Moon. He sells his models through Starship Modeler here.

He also sells under JPG Castings at Starship Modeler also, here.

He also has a studio scale TIE Bomber that is out of this world.

I realize that there are other garage kits out there... but then again, look at how many versions of the Falcon there are as well. I think getting the parts work and the attention to detail DeAgostini would put into the kits, they would turn out looking incredible!
