Thanks for all the positive comments everybody. The only problem I ran into was painting the Shapeways parts. I had no idea what to use for paint. I primed with rustoleum and this didn't seem to dry on the plastic. I put a future top coat on and this helped a little, then I hand brushed acrylics.

Nice, I didn't know there was a C-3PO on Shapeways, I'm really hoping a full crew is done at some point. Seems a shame to have all the cutaways w/o a crew to occupy the ship.

Hi Everybody,

Its been a while since I posted any progress on my Falcon. I am now caught up to issue 24. It is mostly frame and panel parts and most of the hold and corridors are finished. I am really enjoying this build, as well as seeing everyone else' progress.

Just a quick addendum, I added Chewbacca to the hold. I got him from the BanDai 1/48 AtSt kit. The scale looks okay.

That Chewie looks great. I love the detail painting you did on him.
I'm going to have to get that AT-ST. I also want a scale TIE to display with the Falcon when it's done.

Love the figures in the cargo hold. I think I will definitely have to get that R2-D2.

I just got my shipment 13 email to my great surprise. I was told on Wednesday that they were not in the warehouse yet. I have finished putting the bottom hull together and will start painting it soon. Will post some pictures when I get a chance.

I think the figures are a really nice touch and really give the viewer a sense of size of the falcon itself.
Happy Modelling

I have done all of the weathering on the bottom of the Falcon, and I am pretty satisfied with my results.I am not going as crazy as some of you guys on here, but it needed some weathering to make it look decent. All of the dots and lines were done by freehand and eyeballing. Pastels used for the weathering, and all of the paint was brushed on. All comments are appreciated.

Yes these are for the wall mount that you get at the end of the build. They are used now to keep the ramp hinges from hitting the ground.
