Last update for a short while and I have completed the bodywork,

This forum has helped massively to accomplish this

Thanks guys, I hope just one person sees this and buys the kit off the back of this build diary.

I will be back in a few weeks with the engine to be started

Looking very sweet, well done Cool

Have you opted not to swop the cockpit side Marlboro logo for the correct style?

Its great having people to support and push you on when you are building something. I had the same when I set myself a hugh task of doing my Yamato with full PE as my first build. It really can make a massive difference BigGrin

The job you have done with this is pretty damn fine as it looks amazing! Keep up the great work BigGrin

Can someone tell me if I am stripping the chrome parts using bleach, will that bring the parts to black? Or just dull the chrome? I only ask so I know if it's working

Thanks all

Hi Mark
Stripping the chrome will take off all the chrome leaving the parts whatever colour the plastic is underneath, usually black. I used spray on Cif oven cleaner and it stripped everything off in under 5 minsLaugh

Just a sneak peak, I need to add the hardware bolts and nuts

I went for a bit of a used look on the engine cover with scuffed edges

I will post more when bolts are in

Hi Mark, I think your doing a fantastic job on this beautiful old kit. It's so good to see it has fallen into the right hands. That looks a real beast of an engine imagine how scary it was sitting in front of that on the grid.
Man he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
A single grain of sand
He gave birth to poetry
But one day will cease to be
