The Lancastria sunk by a U-boat in 1940 has had medals struck by the Scotish Government for the familys of the victims but time is running out for the familys to claim.

What a tragic loss of so many lives and even more so as there was a number of children on board? Very sad too if the medals aren't all claimed before the deadline but I think it would be fitting if the unclaimed medals were auctioned off and the proceeds then given to charities that care for ex-service men and women and their families?

Interesting story Andy even if a sad one, thanks for that. ThumpUp
