Hi All,  So, what do you get for £87m? An F35 fighter jet or a white elephant? In this case, quite possibly both. Due to ongoing issues with the production of the F35, £87m is now the estimated cost of one of these birds and as they were meant to replace the "Harrier" we still as a country have an outstanding order for some of these planes. The White ElephantHope they can get the "Harriers" out of mothballs, as these may not be combat ready till 2020. What`s your thoughts on UK defence? Im rather shocked after reading this, its sounding like we have gone from a once proud naval nation to little more than pirates in skiffs  A bit extreme I know, but thats what it looks like to me. I wonder if there are any financial penalties for Lockheed Martin for such a bismal over run, surely we shouldn't have to foot the extra costs involved
