And it's not even polished yet. I have some ultrafine steel wool around for that purpose. The plan is to polish it to a sheen bright enough it'll burn the office of my ex on the other side of the inner yard into cinders.

Delivery 15

Installed the left deflector and cab roof. The cab is not fastened at this point, but simply hung on the boiler for ease of taking the picture.

And very nice its all looking.

I held off doing much with the cab and have not built the deflectors as yet because it really needs some paint.

Its a great kit though to be sure and I hope you are enjoying your build as much as I am.
Happy Modelling

Thanks everyone.

Steaming along, another delivery arrived just when I finished the cab one, so without further delay....

Delivery 16

The right deflector is installed, as well as cab floor, walls, and roof. The pony truck is put together and installed and the trailing truck is prepared.

A lot of stuff going on in this delivery and we're fast reaching the end of building the engine itself.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's done!

Well, the locomotive itself is.

Now I just need to finish the tender and the base and the motors and the electronics and the case, but the locomotive? That one is done.

We went through a lot together since we first started out on this build, there've been losses and wins, in real life and in modeling life, but however far we came this end is just the beginning. Now only the sky is the limit.

No really, the sky is the limit, I don't have enough room to build planes which is a shame really.

Quoting Churchill;

This is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning

yeah, the tender seems to be a nice and easy relaxing build after the more fiddly parts on the cab and the wind screens.

I am. It's not a plane plane with the wings all sticking out into everyone else's business. It's a more held back, elegant vehicle keeping to itself.

Had a bit of delivery issues, but luckily those are resolved now. So we'll have two updates in a row now.

Here's the first one. With issues 69-72 the raw framework for the tender was finished.
