Him all Just wondering if copper leafing the hull would be the best option, as you can get real copper leaf on the net as kits this would also give it an authentic look without the extra weight. Any comments would be most greatfull. Builds in progress: HMS Victory.HMS Surprise. Completed builds: Revell London Bus 1/24. Builds to do:Sovereign of the seas, Hms Albion.

It might be worth sampling on some scrap to see how well it applies and looks.
Leaf material is very very fine, the hull would need to be blemish/mark free, where the slightest mark would be magnified, and if your wanting a copper sheathed tile effect, you need to consider how you might go about doing this be it after application of the leaf or scribing the hull before applying the leaf, weight isn't really an issue.
Personally I would wait and see what alternatives the series comes up with.
