Just a quick question about back stays. I am having trouble fitting them to the masts, they are meant to be tied around the masts just below the cheeks but when tightening the stay they tend to slide down the mast.I had similar trouble with the Forestays and had to make some cleats to stop them riding up (see pic). Don't really want to make more, any alternative ideas ?

Hi Nightwisher, my solution to that problem was using a small square file I filed a small notch at the back of the stay, applied a little superglue into the notch and covered the notch with the stay, now it can't be seen. Did this on both ends of the stay and all before tightening the lines.....Cool Cool .. Worked for me and didn't need to do anything further....Cool Cool ... Hope this helps...

Regards
