I'm looking at issue 14 right now. The instructions suggest staining the delivered anchor rope to make it look a bit more authentic than the pearly white it currently is. They do not elaborate on how to stain however. I'm thinking some good strong black tea or coffee here. What did you guys use?

Coffee should do the trick or use a wood dye in your choice of colour, which if you don't have in a small quantity, you can purchase here http://www.cornwallmodel...g/admiralty_stains.html
Do not use a woodstain which has a surface finish to it, as the thread will stiffen, thouugh this can be useful to set the thread into a coil.

That's a great idea. I have the admiralty walnut stain already. Going to try this one. Thanks.
