This is a slow, "in-between" build that I've started a few weeks ago. In February I posted my unboxing review of the kit here, and this thread will be a home to a slow-moving build log of this stunning model.

I don't have any in-progress photos so let's start with the current state of the build. At this point it's quite hard to take good pictures of it - it's mostly thin frames painted semi-gloss black so the pictures show a lot of contrast and not much else. This will improve along the way.

The look I wanted to achieve is more or less how the car looks today. It will be red (originally racing green); the black frames I painted by airbrush and then repainted using a brush to replicate the look of metal frame painted who knows how many times, with a heavy and protective cover of paint. Had a little bit of fun with weathering the springs and drilling the holes in levers. The brass parts are painted using AK Interactive True Metal brass colour.

This is a current state of my build. The model is long and delicate at this point, and mostly painted in black.

Rear suspension. Quite a few parts are used to build up this area: for example every of the four spring dampers is made of seven parts and a screw. The levers move and if I'm not mistaken, they control a handbrake. Well... only now looking at the pictures I realised that half of one of the levers is missing. Will have to search the box tomorrow...

Front suspension and steering mechanism:

One of the body panels. These were quite difficult to detach from the sprues - instead of usual arrangement, body panels had long pieces of sprue attached on the whole length of most sides. Slow, shallow and careful cuts repeated hundreds of the time did the trick, but still managed to get some scratches on the bodywork. Liquid filler will be needed!

Warning for others building this model: panel 5 shows the suspension mounted wrong way around.

Happy building :-)
