Hi every one..

I have just re- visited the DVD that came with the first magazine, to see if I can gain any close up pictures of the lower section on the hull build and noticed that the planks are a darker colour to the upper section.
As I would like to leave my build in the natural wood look, is it better to stain the planks before assembly ?

Regards,
Ian

Once the planking is in place it will need sanding which in turn will remove the stain, and glue stength may also be hindered.

Which should make it a pain in the rear end to stain, one slip and the stain will bleed into adjoining timbers! then you have to consider if the glue or filla you use is stain-able, this could cause all sorts of problems.

Veneer strips for both - Walnut or Cherry bottom and the Lime top, down to personal choice.
