Hi,
I am sure I read somewhere that the sponsor decals should come with this kit, despite not being shown in any promotional material. I have just received the full kit but cannot seem to find these decals.
Can anyone confirm that these decals should be included and which part they are in?
Thanks

For tobacco advertising/licensing reasons, sponsor decals are not provided with the UK collection and is why this model is advertised without sponsor decals. However, sponsor decals can be purchased via a number of aftermarket sources such as Hiroboy.

Will those of us in the USA be getting the sponsor decals with one of the packs?

The kit does, of course, come with Shell and Honda logo decals; it is just the Marlboro ones that are missing.
What do people think about using the kit-supplied Shell & Honda decals, as opposed to the ones on the third-party sheets of full Marlboro decals that many of us will have acquired?
I am minded to stick with just the third-party (Museum Collection) ones for everything, so that there is less chance of some inconsistency between the two sorts.
But what does everyone else think?

I was thinking the same myself although as I won't get pack 20 until next month I can't compare them but it will be interesting to see who does what. Senna mclaren mp4/4 build complete mp4/4 build http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=12029

I had the same thoughts as I too have the Marlboro decal sheet. Having spoken to Spencer whose judgement I trust implicitly he said that the decals supplied with the model are more of a letraset type of decal unlike the waterslide decals that the Marlboro decals are and he would use the waterslide sheet. So good enough for me!

I received the last pack in October and finished my model. At that time, Customer Service told me the Sponsor decals were not in their office yet. This week I finally received the decals from DeAgostini. It was a MSM decal sheet (the same sheet I had bought on my own).

Has anybody noticed the difference in the sponsorship decals you can purchase for the McLaren? When I first started the model I purchased a set of Museum Collection rear wing decals and the quality was brilliant. I have now come to the end of the build and was going to finish the model with the Marlboro decal sheet I purchased from MSM Creation thinking they would be the same quality but the difference is very noticeable. The Museum collection ones are far better so I have had to now order a set of these to complete the model which is going to delay the completion of the model by a few weeks as the decals are on a backorder from the seller. If anybody is thinking of getting the Marlboro decals for the model take my advice and get the Museum collection ones. If anybody reading this has purchased the Museum sheet could you tell me if the decals on the sheet fit perfectly over the existing decals on the models front wing. Thanks.

Hi JD I have the Museum Collection front decals but have only used the shell logo and tobacco sticker from them and can say there a good match in size for the originals on the front decals. I too got the MSM Creation decals and found them to be ok but not as good like you say as the museum ones but as The only Museum tobacco decal is on the front nose its not noticeable to the other decals on the main body. One other thing that has come to light aswell is the size of the FIA sticker on the plenum chamber relief valve, the MSM decal is smaller than the one provided with the Museum set. Sods law but it would seem mixing decals is not the way to go at times and buying the full set from just one provider is the way to go in the future for any further builds. Personally I would love a part work of the Lotus 49 or a Ferrari of that era. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Andy Thanks for the information. Personally I would like the Jordan 191 to be the next build but that is never going to happen. Tony

I used both the MC and the MSM decals. I was surprised because there are a few MC decals that are not to scale perfectly (such as the two Marlboro ones for the sides). On the flip side, as others found, the FIA decal on the MSM sheet is too small so the MC decal is the correct size.

Hello,
Question for anyone who sees this... I purchased the Marlboro decals from Hiroboy and want to use just the Marlboro ones along with the decals that came on the car. Does anyone see an issue with that? Also, should I use any sort of clear-coat on the decal itself? Would it look weird to clear-coat only the added decals and not the whole car? I really like the ones that came with it, and I'm not that great at decals as it is, so I'd like to avoid touching those if possible. Thanks for any help!
