the bow fillets are fitted flush with the false keel..at the top they are also flush with the bow formers but as you go down the formers are 6 or 7 mm below the fillets..my question is, does the planking butt up against the fillets/keel as you plank down or sit on the top of the fillets? i have seen a couple of builds and they seem to sit on top but surely that will leave a void between top of fillets and the formers and give a point in the bow planking...i hope this is clear..paul

The magazine steps show the planking resting on the fillets which in turn creates a channel for the stem.

thanks.so the planking sits on top of the fillets all the way down the length of the fillets and not against the side of them anywhere...this is hard to explain..paul

Correct, because the stem will drop into the U slot created once the slot has been adjusted later on, if the planking is butted level, there will be no support at its end and no slot created.
