Finally had some time to finish the pack.

Stage 53. Tested instrument panel lighting and attached it to the dashboard. What a beautiful piece of engineering!

Staged 54. Attached bonnet hinges (after almost losing the tiny screws) and rain guard plate.

More to follow soon, next package is on the way.

Thanks for looking and your comments!

Thanks, Al! You flatter me BigGrin There are some really amazing builds on this forum.

While waiting for the next pack to arrive, decided to some some additional improvements on the steering wheel assembly. In particular, turn signal and windshield wiper shifters seem to thick and plasticky, so I cut them off and replaced with shafts of black anodized frame hanging nails. Now it looks so much better.

Pack 17 was quite straightforward and didn't require any mods.

Stage 55. Attached mesh screens with double-sided tape strips and screws, bonnet strut and guard plates, added Agip sticker.

Stages 56-57. Assembled left air duct hose.

Installed in the left rear wheel box rear quarter window, air intake, air duct hose, outlet louvre, hot air deflector and intake housing. Everything fits perfectly, once again thanks DeAgostini for amazing parts quality!

The red paintwork will require some additional polishing which I will do later.

I think this is it till New Year!

Thanks for following my blog and for your supportive comments. HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone, all the very best, and continued modeling achievements!

Very nice model you are putting together.

I must admit the more i see of these large scale cars to more tempted i am becoming.

1 more installment of my D-51 collection and then time to decide what to take on next.

Hope you have a great christmas time and look forward to your further installments in the new year.
Happy Modelling

Happy New Year, fellow Countach enthusiasts!

Pack 18. Stage 58. Assembled right air intake (I must say that the double sticky tape is not very strong but hopefully the hose will stay in place once it's connected on the other end.

There isn't much room for mods at this stage but I as able to add en extra detail! Page 343 (just inside booklet 18) shows a pale blue sticker with Japanese text on the right quarter window (I believe this Countach now is in some private Japanese collection). I reproduced it in Paintbrush (in scale it's about 7 mm x 4 mm) and printed on a decal sheet, and attached to the quarter window. Looks quite well!

Stage 60. Assembled the rear-view mirror, left the protective film in place for now.

This was a short stage, didn't take too much time even with the extra sticker.

Till February!

As my four models (three bikes and the Countach) are approaching completion, I am thinking about either Shelby Mustang or one of the trains, or maybe both. The McLarens also look attractive, will think about this.

Pack 19, just five more to go!

Stage 61. Installed the windscreen, left protective film on for now. Will probably need some fine polishing to remove imperfections.

Stage 62. Installed roof lining. Thinking about painting screws the color of the lining so that they don't stand out so much...

Stage 63. Installed boot cover stay, took a bit of effort to get the tiny screw in and adjust it just right, not too tight and not too loose.
