The supplied hose is not even close to fitting over the parts. I have tried narrowing the parts and using successively larger toothpicks to no avail. The hose shrinks back to a size too small to fit. I have tried opening the hose both before and after adding the wire. Short of splitting the hose and glue/clamping it to parts, does anyone have suggestions? I suppose I could go to a Fry's or an electrical store and pull the existing wire out of the covering. But what size without guessing and buying 3 or 4 spools. Thanks in advance.

Hi Meister

There has been a few discussions regarding the pipes and getting them onto their respective locations and other than using hot water to soften the ends as well as using the toothpick method which others have successfully managed to do.
Not had anyone have problems with the pipes splitting as such as there is plenty of "give" to allow the pipes to fit.

Might be worth checking that you are using the correct diameter pipe to fit over the ends too.

Regards

Spencer

Holding the ends on the radiator for a bit before fitting also works. As long as you are not doing it in the summer time! LOL

Thanks for the replies. I'll first look for larger hose material. Inserting the wire was never a problem. Getting an end to remain wide?...

Solution!! Via Amazon I found "Polyurethane Metric Tubing, 2 mm OD, 1.2 mm ID, 20 m Length, Black". It works so much easier but does require fastening with adhesive. Way more tubing than I will ever need, but only $20.
