Lovely work Graeme, looking really good and nicely painted too. I like the shade of red that you've used on the fuel tanks, looks a perfect match to the colour of the full size originals.

Well done.Cool ThumpUp

Thanks for looking in and the comments.

A little more progress. The plastic mudguards were replaced with etched parts from the Eduard set. Pic. 87 shows the etch mudguard bent to shape and taped to a jar of the correct diameter to hold it to shape whilst the brackets were glued on. The mudguards were then fitted to the kit landing gear retraction arms, Pic 88, and were then primed and painted, Pic.89.

The assemblies were then fitted to the landing gear and nacelles along with the brake pipes, Pics 90 & 91. The cockpit rear bulkhead, R1155 receiver and Gee receiver were fitted to the centre wing section along with the captured nut assembly which will hold the wings to the fuselage, Pics 92 & 93.

Pics 94 & 95 show the completed wing assembly. The wings were slotted into the fuselage and the screw fitted to hold them in place. Pics 96, 97 & 98 show the assembly to date.

I’ve not had a lot of modelling time lately, so just a short update.

The 20mm canons were painted and assembled. One nice touch was the inclusion of a couple of etched spacers to ensure the barrels are aligned correctly to fit the fuselage later. Once the assembly is dry, these are then removed. These spacers can be seen in Pic.99 and the completed assembly is seen in Pic.100.

The next job was to assemble the 500lb bombs and rack, Pic 101. Pics 102 & 103 show the canon and bomb assemblies fitted into the fuselage. The bomb bay doors were then fitted into place, Pic 104.

The final task of this update was to assemble and fit the flaps, Pic 105.
