Hi gang. I am now finished laying the lower deck and sanding it. The instructions say nil about finishing the lower deck. I want to stain it a light oak and then finish off with danish oil. Would it be wise to go ahead with staining the lower deck before starting to plank the hull. Also does one think it is wise to fill in the bow ribs with balsa wood for support? Seems as if I read in ones build log they did this. Page

Hi Page,
Yes you can stain and Danish oil the deck before planking the outer. That's the way I did it.
I in-filled the bow with balsa for support and for ease of planking her.
