Just received the latest issues, and my attention was drawn to issue 34 which deals with the lining of the gun ports.
I intend go down the paint route, and with this in mind I have noted that the linings are painted red. As a test I lined a bow gun port which will be blanked off and was surprised at how much difference the lining made to the area of the port, which will make painting an arduous task.
I am minded to sand and paint the strakes prior to cutting and fitting - so my question is this. Can any of you suggest why I should not do this.Any input would be appreciated.
