Let's imagine that someone is stupid enough to "misplace" his pin pushing tool, where can i buy one at a reasonable price? Even fleabay are looking at £12+..or is there a better method? (Mainly for planking hulls, etc) Completed: Earth, Moon, Sun Orbiter Build a Model Solar System

thats certainly cheaper! im guessing a micro (0.5mm) drill bit to make the hole just to stop the wood splitting? Completed: Earth, Moon, Sun Orbiter Build a Model Solar System

Hi there WildRover Like Martyn, I rarely use a pin pusher, preferring to drill and tap in with a jeweller's hammer. If you do want an alternative however, check in the tool section on ebay and look for a draper panel pin pusher - it's a heftier version of the pin pusher and there's one on there for £5.99 with free p&p. They're not quite as accurate but will do the job. Thanks Robin, yeah that seems to be the way to go, especially with the hull, as i only want it to hold the planks until the gorilla glue dries! I got the pin pusher with the endeavour, and it came in handy, just sometimes had a tendancy to damage the wood underneath if it forced the nail thru too hard.
