Ahoy Shipmates,
Just a snippet from my alternatine build diary. I began planking my model and laid the first sex levels, not to bad could of done a better job on the fairing. I then marked out my first row a gun ports and very carefully cut my first hole. Had a quick glance at the magazine and realised the gun port was in the wrong place. Stripped the planking and relaid the planking and cut the ports again. Checked again and realised I was marking the models on the starboard side where the magazine was showing the port side, ahhhhh!. Stripped the planking again and did it properly. Moving on to the second row of gun ports, planking all laid gun ports cut, had quick check and you guessed it all the lower deck ports were in the wrong place, can,t even explain how I got that wrong. Stripped all the planking and redone. I have completed the third row and to everyone surprise no mistakes. Reading back it sounds like my build has been a complete nightmare, but this is not the case we are 25% through the model and I am still relly enjoying myself. Things seem a bit tense on the forum so I thought I would post this to lighten the mood.
Merry Cristmas to you all
JAW

Good for you Jaw! You need to check more and cut less, a least you got their in the end!. Have fun planking, you'll love doing the lower hull. Only hope you have sufficient planks.
